Ontario FFA, learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, lving to serve
FFA was founded by a group of young farmers back in 1928. Their mission was to prepare future generations for the challenges of feeding a growing population. Over time, they taught us that agriculture is more than just planting and harvesting - it's a science, a business, and an art. Thus, the Future Farmers of America changed their name in 1988 to "The National FFA Organization" in order to reflect the wide diversity of interests its members possessed outside of farming.
FFA continues to prepare the next generation to rise up and meet the world's challenges by helping its members develop their own unique talents and explore their interests in a broad range of career pathways. Its focus on leadership, interpersonal skills, and agricultural knowledge is reflected by its motto: "FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education."
We are still the future agriculturists of America. However, we are also are the future biologists, chemists, veterinarians, engineers and entrepreneurs of America.
